We are in a very serious time in history.
For years, much of the church has
been “asleep at the wheel”, so to speak, and
has also become “lukewarm,” complacent and
detached.
As a result, some who do not possess
the same Biblical moral values our country was founded
upon are now in key leadership positions in our government.
They have been there for some time and each election
cycle more of those with this same “world view”
are added to their number. Members of the body of Christ
are simply NOT registering to vote and do NOT make it
a priority to go to the ballot box at every election.
Here we are, in the ”Bible Belt”
of the USA, fighting an “uphill battle” to
get an amendment to our state constitution which would
protect holy matrimony; marriage between only one man
and one woman and its exclusive traditional benefits.
If you would have asked me
even ten years ago if I thought we would be facing an
issue like this today, I would have said definitely
NOT!
How we got to this point is a discussion
I’ll save for another day. What’s important
NOW is what are we going to DO about it?
Recently my spirit has been very troubled
and I have felt a strong “call” from Almighty
God to do everything I can to make a difference during
this time of moral crisis in our state and nation.
I
have shared with the elders the plan God has laid on
my heart for me to get more involved in the battle
by traveling our state meeting with pastors and ministers
to educate, motivate and challenge them to get their
congregations enlisted in the fight. We must activate
every person who wears the name of Christ to battle
this evil that is pervading our lives and the lives
of our precious family members, including generations
to come!
As a result of a specially-called
elders’ meeting this past week, the board of elders
has UNANIMOUSLY
endorsed the resolution I have included at the end of
this letter, and we desire to pass it on to our entire
church body at this time.
I share this with you and ask for
your prayers. I need godly discernment, wisdom and protection
at this time. Please pray for your pastor. I also ask
you to prayerfully search your own heart and seek how
God would use YOU at this time.
This is indeed a battle we can NOT
lose! It is time for the church to “wake up”
and”“put on the full armor of God” and
to do something about the crisis we find ourselves in.
If the moral climate of our nation doesn’t change,
we have no one to blame but ourselves and we certainly
have no time to waste! We must answer God’s call
and rise up to be the’“salt and light”
in this world He has called us to be!

Political Policy
Resolution
From the Elders of Central Christian
WHEREAS,
God has established government (Romans 13:1) as
an institution under His authority, and
WHEREAS,
the United States and the state of Kansas were
founded on Biblical Christian principles, and
WHEREAS,
some national and state elected officials have
enacted laws contrary to Biblical Christian principles,
and
WHEREAS,
Jesus commanded us to be “the salt of the
earth” and “the light of the world”,
(Matthew 5:13-14), and
WHEREAS,
our Senior Pastor, Joe Wright, has personally
experienced a call from Almighty God to encourage
other Kansas pastors to lead their congregations
in urging elected officials to restore and maintain
Biblical principles in the laws of our state.
NOW THEREFORE,
we do hereby authorize, encourage and support
Senior Pastor Joe Wright in this endeavor and
pledge to him our prayers as he travels and speaks
to other pastors, congregations and elected officials
throughout the state of Kansas.
This resolution shall be in accordance with the
Policy on Political Involvement for Central Christian
Church.
