A Message from Pastor Joe!

We are officially into the “holiday” season and this is one of the richest times of opportunity we have as believers in sharing with an unbeliever.

This is one of two times of the calendar year in which church attendance increases with those who come “just because it’s Christmas,” or because someone invited them. Christmas musicals and dramas are used as tools in presenting the ”Good News,” and pulpits proclaim the wonderful story of a tiny infant who came to this earth to save each of us from a eternal damnation.

I know it is also a very busy time with Christmas programs, shopping, preparation for family gatherings, etc. I want you to prayerfully enter this season asking God to make you aware of those individuals who will cross your path this holiday season. They may not know “Him,” Who we celebrate, and we just might be the instrument used to help bring that unsaved person to the foot of the cross.

Hearts are more open this time of year and it is my prayer that we would slow down long enough to be aware of how we might be used. I know it can be an extra burden to invite that family member or neighbor to our Christmas program, but how much of a burden did our Lord carry for your sins?

It might mean having to go out of your way to pick someone up and bringing them to the program, but how blessed you are to have the transportation to help those who do not! There are many who won’t have the financial means to provide a holiday meal for their family or gifts for their children.

We have many opportunities where you can help meet that need within our own church family. Some who are shut in and no longer able to get out would probably love the opportunity to attend a morning worship service and enjoy a meal with you following the service.

I want you to think about ways you can be used this season, not just focus on all you have to do for yourself or your family. Let’s reach out and celebrate the birth of our Savior by sharing the Good News and love through our actions.

Mark your calendars now for our special upcoming Christmas musical, presented by our Fine Arts Department. I know it will bless you and those you bring!

I love you,
